Useful Tip: It would help us if you are able to provide as much information as possible about your topic.

I have been advised by my tutor that I should be using a referencing software. She mentioned zotero - how do I find out about this?

Zotero is one example of a bibliographic management software - a way of collecting together all your research material into one place, manage it and cite it.  The IOE doesn't officially support Zotero, but we do have a guide to it that you might find useful

There are other options too - the IOE's 'official' (in that it is installed on all student machines, and there are training opportunities available etc) bibliographic software is Endnote

Mendeley is another free one

You can choose whatever software you prefer to use, but it's probably best once you've made your decision to stick with it.
