Can I photocopy a theses/dissertation that is held in the Library?
Under the section on fairdealing in the Copyright act, you can copy a theses or a dissertation if this is for non-commercial purposes. However, should the author publish the work in electronic format, either as a book or as an ethesis, you must seek written permission before you copy the work as the thesis or dissertation is considered to be a published work. You must also make sure you acknowledge all content that has been taken from the thesis or the dissertation by referencing the original correctly.
