Q

How can I access the UCL IOE computer network when I am away from campus and don't have access to my own wifi network?

I have heard that I can connect to the IOE network through something called Eduroam. How do I get started with this?

Answer

You can use your UCL username and password via Eduroam to connect to the Internet when you are away from the IOE campus and away from networks available at your home or work.  For example if you are visiting another university for a meeting or to use their library, if you have your laptop or tablet with you, you can get online (if the university is an Eduroam member).

To find out where you can connect to the Internet using Eduroam in the UK see the list of participating organisations. For Eduroam access worldwide visit the Eduroam website.

Computer Helpdesk staff from IOE IT Services support Eduroam at the IOE and can provide assistance in setting up Eduroam on your laptop.
