The Newsam Library does have the Board of Education Annual Reports from 1899/1900 to 1960.  These are in our Special Collections and can be requested from the Enquiry Desk or by 'Requesting from Store' from the Library Catalogue.  The full catalogue record lists the variant titles for this set of publications - see below:

As you can see from this catalogue record, the Board of Education's Annual reports cover a lot of subjects - the educational system in England and Wales (primary, secondary and teacher education), art education, technical education, etc.  The annual reports are useful for looking at educational statistics for a particular year or series of years or if you want to know what the topical issues of the year or period were in education in England and Wales.

If you are specifically looking for the Education Reports during WWII, you will note that no reports were published between 1939 to 1946.  The 1947 annual report has details.

You can find other official government documents by searching by the name of the government department as author on UCL Explore. You can also find a collection of born-digital (electronic documents) in the Digital Education Resource Archive, DERA.  Further informaton can be found on the IOE LibGuide 'Official Publications' at http://libguides.ioe.ac.uk/officialpublications
