One of the IOE's most popular Special Collections is the Exam Papers collection. This collection was originally assembled by the library of the DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families) and its predecessors. It comprises the publications of most of the major examining boards, including the AEB (Associated Examining Board), JMB (Joint Matriculation Board), University of London, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Oxford and Cambridge, and other regional groups. More information is available on our online guide: http://libguides.ioe.ac.uk/specialcollections/schoolexams
They date from the early 1900's (with a handful of earlier examples) to the mid-1990s. Some material from organisations dealing with vocational qualifications, such as BTEC and the City and Guilds, is also included.
Exam papers from 1900 - 1950 for all boards are catalogued and are searchable via UCL Explore. The remainder of the collection is currently uncatalogued but organised by exam board and year.
The collection includes a full range of subjects.
You will need to make an appointment via the Library Enquiry Desk to use any part of this collection or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
